HP Lockout (°C)

Heat Pump Lockout Temperature

The temperature below which the heat pump turns off completely and backup heating takes over. Set this to optimize cost. At very cold temperatures the heat pump's efficiency drops and it may be cheaper to run the furnace. Note: even above this temperature, backup may still kick in if the heat pump can't produce enough heat to meet your home's demand.
